Spirit of Love, Just 4 Kids Magazine

The first fruit mentioned in Galations 5:22-23 is LOVE.
Spiritual love is unconditional. That means that it does not matter how a person acts. It does not mean that if a person is good you will like them and if a person is bad you will not. It means that no matter what you will LOVE them.

"And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13)

If we had to sum up Christianity with just one word, it would be LOVE. God's love for us, and our love for Him. LOVE is the central theme of the whole Bible.

LOVE is a gift from God
We can not earn it.
It is the same Love that Jesus gave to us
when He died on the cross for the sins of the world.
It is the same Love that God gave to us
when He gave His only son to die for each of us.

"The Love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
Romans 5:5

The fruit of the Spirit LOVE is poured in our hearts.

Think about a tree growing apples. The tree produces the fruit because it gets it's source from its roots that are in the ground. It does it naturally because it is designed by God to produce apples. The tree does not tell itself to produce apples it just does. In the same way, when we love God we are able to LOVE everyone with the LOVE of God, because the Holy Spirit pours it in to our hearts.

It isn't you, it is the Holy Spirit working inside of you.

"Let us love one another:
for love is of God...

1 John 4:7

"God is love."
1 John 4:8

"If God so loved us,
we ought also to love
one another.

1 John 4:11

"His Love is perfected in us"
1 John 4:12

Put on God's LOVE every day, and let the Fruit of LOVE shine from you wherever you go.

Show your LOVE to your brothers and sister, even when they bother you. Jesus told us to even LOVE our enemies.
