January 16

On May 6th 2017 my cat, who was my best friend of almost sixteen years, Peace Daniel Gandy, passed away. I was devastated, my heart was shredded into so many pieces I couldn't imagine living without him.

That same year Hurricane Harvey struck Texas, leaving in its wake so much destruction and uprooting so many lives, both human and animal alike. Through Facebook I learned that Austin Pets Alive! was able to save the lives of thousands of dogs and cats from Houston and the surrounding areas. This meant that they desperately needed fosters to help house these animals.

This is where my APA! foster journey began. This is when I decided that to honor the memory of my beloved Peace I would step up to help kitties in need. I would show them the love I lavished on Peace his entire life. I would teach them that not all humans are bad. I would be a safe place on their road to recovery and on their road to their forever homes.

Along the way I didn't just help them, but they have help comfort my broken heart.

Since than I've have had the honor of fostering Twenty-Nine fosters kitties.

My Facebook page is to share with everyone their stories during their time here with me. Both the happy moments and the heartbreaking ones as well.

Foster & Cat Stories

Jamie was riding Priscilla, a beautiful brown Clydesdale horse. Priscilla kept looking towards another horse across the fence. Angela told us that the horse across the way was Priscilla's best friend. She said horses always have a best friend. If their friend dies they become lost and mourns for a long time until they find another best friend. Angela grew up raising horses and loving on them as she takes care of their needs. During the evenings she gives people carriage rides along the streets of downtown Austin, Texas. The carriages are driven by Priscilla, Pearl, Star and other beautful Clydesdale horses owned by Elaine and John Glass.

One who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure.

A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walk out.

A best friend shares the good times and help you out by listening during the bad times.

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Best friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway.

Never explain yourself. Your friends dont need it and your enemies wont believe it.

If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn’t jump with them, I’d be at the bottom to catch them.

There is nothing worth the wear of winning, but laughter and the love of friends.

A friend is a gift one give oneself.

My best friend is the someone who brings out the best of me.

The medicine of life is to have true faithful friends.

A best friend can tell you things you don’t want to tell yourself.

Lots of your friends want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down.

The best mirror in the world is an old friend.

A true friend is someone you can disagree with and still remain friends. If not, they weren’t true friends in the first place.

A friend accepts us as we are yet helps us to be what we should.

True friends are very difficult to find, hard to leave, and impossible to forget.

A true friend reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

Hold a true friend with both your hands.

When you look around and your world is crumbling or when you think no one loves you, your best friend is the one to run to you.

A true friend is one who thinks you are a good egg even if you are half cracked.

Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.

Thick and thin, tall and small, fast and slow. Tell me who is always there for you. I am sure you know. Your best friend, of course, don’t let him or her go
