THE WORD OF GOD IS LIKE A MIRROR

The little girl in the picture above has a
positive image of herself. She believes that
with a lot of work and dedication she will be a
talented, beautiful and graceful ballerina.
Imagine looking into a full length mirror.
When you look at yourself you see that you
have dirt on your face, and your hair is a mess.
But you walk away and forget the mess you saw.

The mirror reveals the truth of how you look.
It does not improve the way you look unless
you take action to make yourself look better.
The Bible is a mirror.
It tells us what our spirit needs
and how to walk in God's ways.
We do not know what kind of life we are living
until we read the Bible. When we read and learn
what the bible says we gain
K N O W L E D G E
of how God wants us to live our lives.
The bible tells us:
"Don't copy the behavior and customs of the world,
but be a new and different person with a fresh newness
in all you do and think. then you will learn from your
experience how His ways will really satisfy you."
Romans 12: 2
What does this scripture tell us?
It says not to follow the crowd,
or to do what everyone else does
just because they are doing it.
Be yourself!
Learn God's Word and follow His ways.
A mirror is a tool that shows us how we look.
The Bible is a tool from God that shows us how to live.

If you look in a mirror and see that your hair is messy
you need to brush your hair.
When you read the Bible and realize you need
to change your thoughts then you need to take action.
Apply God's Word to your every day life!

Below are some bible scriptures that refers to the bible as a mirror:
"But we Christians have no veil over our faces;
we can be mirrors that brightly reflect
the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord
2 Corinthians 3:18

"A mirror reflects a man's face,
but what he is really like is shown by the
kind of friends he chooses."
Proverbs 27: 19

".. we can see and understand only a little about God now,
as if we were peering at His reflection in a poor mirror;
but someday we are going to see Him in His completeness,
face to face.
Now all that I know is hazy and blurred, but then
I will see everything clearly, just as clearly as
God sees into my heart right now.
There are three things that remain -
faith, hope, and love -
and the greatest of these is love."
1 Corinthians 13: 12-13

"Dear brothers:
Don't ever forget that it is best to listen much,
speak little, and not become angry;
for anger doesn't make us good,
as God demands that we must be.
So get rid of all that is wrong in your life,
both inside and outside,
and humbly be glad for the wonderful
message we have received,
for it is able to save our souls
as it takes hold of our hearts.
And remember, it is a message to obey,
not just to listen to. So don't fool yourselves.
For if a person just listens and doesn't obey,
he is like a man looking at his face in a mirror;
as soon as he walks away,
he can't see himself anymore
or remember what he looks like.
But if anyone keeps looking steadily
into God's law for free men,
he will not only remember it,
but he will do what it says,
and God will greatly bless him
in everything he does. "
