We want to encourage and educate kids to eat healthy foods so that their bodies will grow strong and healthy.

God created our bodies to live on living foods. In our busy everyday life with hectic schedules many families do not have time to prepare homemade foods so they eat prepackaged precooked foods that are easy and fast to get ready. These foods have additives and preservatives added that increase the length of shelf life so that the food does not spoil. However most of these chemicals are not digesting properly in our bodies, and can cause diseases and weight gain.

Summertime can be a time of refreshing your bodies as you take time off from school and spend time relaxing your mind and body. We encourage you to take some time to learn how to eat more healthy. This summer we will add some fun recipes and teach you about some tasty fruits and vegetables. Take a trip to the grocery store with your mom and explore the produce section. You will discover fruits and vegetables that you never knew existed. Instead of buying that box of cookies or bag of chips select some delicious red cherries, watermelon, cantaloupe, apples, oranges, grapes or bananas.

Be sure and drink lots of living water.

Start a summer garden. You can plant some vegetables from seeds or buy a small started plant that will soon be producing your own vegetables soon. Some favorite summer gardens include tomatoes which is really from the fruit family. You might even want to plant a fruit tree. Even people who live in apartments can grow a fruit tree on their patio in a large container. Many nurseries sell trees that are already growing fruits. In only a few weeks you could be eating fresh fruit right from your own tree. We found several great websites with lots of information on kids getting started gardening. Kids Gardening. APPLES - Apples are high in fiber, lowers cholesterol and is full of nutrients. Apples come in a rainbow of colors. Golden Delicious, Red Delicious. Granny Smith, Winesap. Rome, Gala, McIntosh, Pink Lady, and Fuji are all apple names. To add flavor sprinkle cinnamon or allspice on top. Spices add nutrients and flavor. Enjoy a healthy snack by dipping sliced apples in a mixture of plain fat-free yogurt with cinnamon, allspice and honey. The apple skins are loaded with vitamins and fiber so be sure and eat the skins too. Make sure that your apples are washed well because some companies place wax on top of the apples to make them shine, but the wax in not healthy for you.
