REDEMPTION

Redemption is the act, process, or an instance of redeeming.

      REDEEM
Redeem means: to buy back: to get or win back. To liberate by payment. Ransom. To free by force. To release from blame or debt; to clear. To free from the bondage of sin. To change for the better; to reform, repair, restore.

When a person wants to free a slave they will need to pay the price that the master is asking for the slave, and then once they purchase the slave the new owner can release the slave into freedom.

1 Corinthians 6:20 and 7:23 declares that believers "are bought with a price." Jesus offered Himself for us as a due satisfaction. He, having paid the price, binds us to Himself.

When you hear or read the word REDEEM remember that it means to be free from the bondage of sin, but most important remember that for us to be REDEEMED Jesus had to pay a price. And He paid a very high price... a cruel death on the cross.

Congratulations you have learned what REDEEM means.

Song about being Redeemed - "Say So"

The Crucifixion
by Marilyn Ferguson

They placed the cross upon His back
Yet, no one seemed to care
The weight across His shoulders
Seemed more than He could bear.

The spikes were driven in His hands
And pounded through His feet
The ones who had convicted Him
Were cheering in the street.

The crown of thorns placed on His head
Brought blood upon His brow
The day of prophecy had come
He had to face it now.

The sins of man were laid to rest
He bore a heavy loss
The agony He must have felt
As He hung there on the cross.

The innocent blood of Jesus Christ
Was shed for all to see
The Son of God was crucified
And died for you and me.
