WEEK SEVEN'S PRAYER: Almighty and everlasting God, Thank you for sending Jesus to this World to teach us about Your Love and Your ways. Thank you for Your plan of Redeeming us with Salvation from the Sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ for taking away our sins so that we may live with You forever in Heaven as Your children. Thank you for being the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Today is the thirty-fifth day of the Lent season. All four Gospels tell the story about Jesus arriving in to Jerusalem on a donkey. This week we will learn about the last week of Jesus' life on earth. Mark 11:9-10 reads: "Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!" "Hosanna in the highest!" We celebrate this event each year the Sunday before Easter Sunday. It is called PALM SUNDAY. My favorite way to celebrate Pam Sunday is to give a huge palm leave to each child. Then we sing praises and wave the palm branches and pretend that we are welcoming Jesus to our city!

For six weeks we have been learning stories about Jesus during His three year ministry on Earth. These are the stories that are written in the four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. I am sure you have grown in your Knowledge of the Bible and your understanding of what an amazing, awesome Lord and Messiah that Jesus is. Your Wisdom has increased. I am also sure that your love for Jesus has grown
deeper the more you learned about His love for God's people, especially those that needed a touch of God's love. Sometimes the people needed miracles of healing, sometimes they needed to be forgiven of their sins, and almost always they needed to feel God's unconditional love. Each week I have been using a different background color for our daily Lent lessons. This week I decided to use the color turquoise because it is the color of forgiveness. We are going to read some very terrible stories during the end of this week about how mean people were to Jesus. These stories will make you sad because you love Jesus, but Jesus will want you to have forgiveness in your heart for what they did to Him. Even when Jesus was dying He asked God to forgive the people because they did not know what they were doing.
The exciting news is found in the last book of the bible "Revelation". In Chapter 19 we read that Jesus will return again, and this time He will be riding on a beautiful white horse in the sky. And all the angels, and God's children will be shouting joyful praises of Hallelujah just like when Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey and the people were shouting Hosanna! You can read Revelation 19 when you click on the picture below of Jesus riding on the horse.
PRAYER: Almighty and everlasting God, Thank you for Palm Sunday when we remember Jesus arriving on a donkey in to the city of Jerusalem. Help me to learn more about the last week of Jesus' life and plant in my heart an even greater excitement about the true meaning of Easter - Jesus' resurrection and a forever promise for His return again as the King of Kings. In Jesus' Name I Pray. Amen.

Today is the thirty-sixth day of the Lent season. We are going to read about a time when Jesus did some major house cleaning. Jesus traveled to Jerusalem for the annual Passover celebration. Yesterday we learned that when Jesus arrived the people shouted praises and waved palm branches. Then Jesus went to the temple. He was upset with what he saw. In the temple area Jesus saw people who were selling cattle, sheep, and doves to be used as sacrifices in the temple. Tables were set up where men were changing money so that people could pay their temple taxes. It looked more like a market place than a house of worship.
Jesus was so angry that He picked up a piece of rope, made a whip, and drove the the cattle, sheep, and all of those who were selling them out of the temple. Then Jesus went to the money changers and turned their tables over, scattering coins all over the temple floor. To the ones who were selling the doves he said, "Get out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market." Jesus did some major house cleaning in the temple that day!
The Bible tells us that we are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in us. (1 Cor. 3:16) The Lent season is a good time for us to look inside ourselves and see if there is anything in us that needs to be cleansed.
PRAYER: Almighty and everlasting God, Thank you for this time of year that we remember what Jesus did for us so that we can become Your children, and live with you forever in heaven. Help us to remember that we are your temple and that your Spirit lives in us. Help us to keep our lives clean and useful for service to you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Day 37 ~JESUS' LAST PREACHING and
JUDAS BETRAYS JESUS
Today is the thirty-seventh day of the Lent season. As Jesus was walking back to the temple at Jerusalem the next morning Peter noticed that the fig tree that Jesus had cursed the previous day because it did not have any figs was now withered to the ground. Jesus replied to them about having faith enough to even tell a mountain to throw itself to the sea it would happen. Jesus told several parables to the Jewish leaders at the temple. And then after leaving the temple Jesus told His disciples about the signs of the end times (Watch video below).
The Jewish leader had been planning to kill Jesus because they were upset about the miracles that He preformed, the number of people who were following Jesus and the teachings that Jesus taught did not agree with theirs. Judas, one of Jesus' disciples went to the Jewish leaders and betrayed Jesus. Psalm 88 could have been a prayer that Jesus prayed after He was captured and sent to jail.
PRAYER: Almighty and everlasting God, Thank you for leaving us the bible with the precious Words that Jesus spoke while He was on Earth. Let His Words capture my heart and mind all the days of my life. Help me to follow Your paths of Righteousness as a true child of God. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
Today is the thirty-eighth day of the Lent season. On Thursday Jesus and His disciples ate the "Last Supper" it was on the first night of the Passover festival, or during the Seder Meal. During this meal Jesus explained to His Disciples that The Bread was His body and the wine was His blood of the new covenant, shed for the remission of our sins. Jesus instructed us to "Do This in remembrance of Me" (Luke 22:19)
Later that night after they ate the supper Jesus and the Disciples went to the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus prayed and when He came back down Judas and the Roman soldiers came to Jesus. Judas betrayed him and the soldiers took Jesus away to jail. CLICK HERE TO READ THIS STORY

PRAYER: Almighty and everlasting God, Thank you for the reminder of of what Jesus did for us by the breaking of bread together. Help us to keep Your Holy Days to honor and love you. Thank you for being the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Today is the thirty-ninth day of the Lent season. Some people call today GOOD FRIDAY because they understand the deeper meaning of why Jesus died. Other's call it DARK FRIDAY because it was a sad day, and God actually caused the sky to go dark from noon until 3 pm. At the moment Jesus died the
curtain veil ripped in half in the temple. Matthew 27:51-54 reads: "At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people. When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”

Today is the fortieth and last day of the Lent season. Some churches call the Saturday before Easter Bright Saturday. The Church stays up all night, celebrating the very first fruit of the act of Redemption, where our Lord Jesus Christ calls on the prisoners in Hades to be released from the bondage of Satan. This night is called "Apocalypses" and the whole Book of Revelation is read. The word Apocalypses is a Greek word which means Revelation.
When I began working on the "40 Days of Lent Lessons" I was praying to hear God's voice more clearly, and I felt in my spirit that something wonderful would happen after I finished the last lesson. Every day beginning on Ash Wednesday I would work on the lessons. I studied the four Gospels and the order of the stories during Jesus' Ministry, and I tried to find Scriptures that tied in with the lessons from the Old Testament, Psalms, and Epistle. Most days I could not wait to get back to reading the Bible, and excitement filled my soul as I read the Words of My Lord Jesus Christ.
Today after I finished reading today's story of Jesus' body being placed in the tomb in all four of the Gospels I was looking to find one last Old Testament Scripture to fit with this lesson. I knew the Scripture from Revelation 1:18 was fitting, because it tells about Jesus saying that He was dead and now has the Keys to death and Hades. And Psalm 19:1-6 speaks of the heavens declaring the Glory of God and the bridegroom coming out of His chamber. But I was stuck in finding the very last Scripture that would fit for this last lesson. There were no references of Old Testament Scriptures in any of the Gospel bible study notes from today's story. Finally I asked God for His help. A few times I have just opened the Bible and the scripture that I turn to would fit perfectly, and I would give God the glory. But today I heard God say to my spirit "Zechariah 13". It has been awhile since I read Zechariah and I had no idea what would be in this Book of the Bible. I was not even sure if Zechariah had 13 chapters. I was amazed and excited when I read the first two verses of Chapter 13 which Prophesies that the death of the Messiah will be poured out like a fountain to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity. And the paragraph above talks about the mourning for the one they pierced.
These were perfect Old Testament Scriptures for today's lesson, and I did not even know they were in the Bible. But God did!
Later that evening I realized that my prayer to hear God more clearly has been answered, and that is the wonderful something that happened just as I finished the very last lesson. Praise God He is so wonderful!
