TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Isaiah 26:2
Matthew 4:12-17
Psalm 100:4

PRAYER:
Almighty and everlasting God, Thank you for this time of year that we remember what Jesus did for us so that we can become Your children, and live with you forever in heaven. Help us to learn more about You and Your Son from Your Word, the Bible. And help us to learn to say NO to sins and YES to obeying your commandments and spending more time with you. Thank you for being the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Click on the Gate and enter through the gate and over the moat. The gatehouse is the way in and out of the castle. It is often the most strongly defended point.

Old Testament

Isaiah 26:2

2 Open the gates
that the righteous nation may enter,
the nation that keeps faith.

The Psalm

Psalm 100:4

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

The Gospel

Matthew 4:12-17

Matthew 4:12-17 (New International Version, ©2011)
Jesus Begins to Preach 12 When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he withdrew to Galilee.
13 Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali—
14 to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—
16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”[a]

17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
